Nagnata: Future=Fibre

Dance Performance & Fashion Presentation · Sydney · 2026
Music Composition · Sound Design · Live Implementation · FOH Show Calling

THE PROJECT

Future = Fibre brought together original music, contemporary dance, movement and fashion as elements of a single live experience.

Rather than treating the dance performance as an addition to a conventional fashion presentation, music, movement and the collection were developed as interconnected elements of the work.

THE MUSIC

The music was structured around three distinct stages of the presentation.

ENTRY · APPROX. 8 MIN

An ambient soundscape designed to loop as the audience entered and occupied the space. Music written in teh key closest to the frequency of OHM

DANCE PERFORMANCE · APPROX. 4 MIN

A composition structured directly around choreography, movement and timing.

RUNWAY · APPROX. 14 MIN

A longer-form composition creating progression and an emotional arc across the presentation. Together, the three sections required different approaches to musical duration within one event:

seamless looping, precise choreography and extended live composition.

“Gary Sinclair's meditative soundscape pulsed around the room.” — GRAZIA

.

“Our work with Gary is genuinely collaborative. For Future = Fibre, music, dance, movement, fashion and space were developed as parts of a single live experience. Gary’s score provided rhythm and emotional structure for the dance performance and presentation, while remaining responsive to the choreography and other creative elements as they evolved. He brings a strong musical identity to the work while understanding how music needs to interact with the wider production.”             Laura May Gibbs
